Writing a good enquiry

There is no required format, and a short note is entirely welcome. But the enquiries I can answer usefully on the first reply tend to cover the same three things.

What you are working on. The institution, the project, and where it currently stands — including if it is still only an idea.
What you would like from me. Convening, coordination, framing, a conversation, a lecture, or a comment for publication. Saying so directly saves an exchange.
Any dates that constrain it. Cross-border work runs on long lead times, and knowing the deadline early changes what is realistic.
